Hello and welcome to OddSox - I'm Shaz...

A few years ago my sister Lou gave me a fabulous book called 'Sock Monkeys'. It's crammed full of brilliant monkey mugshots. I couldn't wait to have a go and since then I've been making all kinds of sock based creatures. I've also branched out into jumper creatures (at last, a way of re-using those woollen washing machine mistakes!), I've discovered the Japanese crochet style Amigurumi and have also dabbled with needlefelting.

The bit I like best is when the bodies are made and stuffed and are ready to have their 'faces put on'. Happy, sad, grumpy, or mad - it can all change with the size or position of a button or stitch!
