I'm a silversmith currently living in Birmingham, which is a good place to be a silversmith ;) The work I am currently listing here is from my current collections - but I love custom work, so drop me a line if you are interested.

I like semi-precious stones; silver, silver and more silver; opals; fossils; very small hammers and miniature anvils; saw-blades as thin as a hair, soldering torches with tiny, ridiculously hot flames; diamond burrs and wheels.

I tend to make a lot of jewellery with dichroic glass, partly because I love it and partly because so does everybody else, but the important part for me is the process - of metal-working and with other materials as well. The grubby side of workshopping appeals to me, and I am acquiring an expensive taste for opals and labradorite - the contrast between that glowing, ethereal beauty and the hammering and flame that goes into silversmithing is a good one.
