Meet the maker Sharon Lloyd

The Old Button ( Y Hen Botwm in Welsh ) is inspired by a box of old buttons my grandmother gave me when I started making my own clothes as a child. I still have this box and keep it well stocked with buttons salvaged from old clothes and the occasional modern quirky design that catches my eye.

I make an eclectic mix of high quality hand crafted items for children and the home, combining two of my passions - creating new designs and using gorgeous materials. I like to use both new and recycled fabrics including 100% cotton, denim, bamboo and sometimes silk or wool.

My favorite techniques include applique, patchwork and quilting - especially when I get to add a modern twist to old favourites.

As I love the design aspect of creating, I am always coming up with new ideas for products and only make a limited number. Often items are unique, as I love playing with fabric and colour combinations, and adding different trims. And of course, I try and incorporate a old button or two when I can.

Now for the small print ....

I try and keep postage costs as low as possible and I will post out ready most ready made within 3 working days of cleared payment.

Items with name personalisation are also usually ready to post within 3 working days, but bespoke or customised will take up to 3 weeks - see posting for details.

At the moment I only post to UK and N Ireland, and I use Royal Mail first class or Tracked 24.

I am sure you will love your hand crafted item but if you need to return anything, just send me a message giving reasons and we will arrange. Depending on the reason, you may need to cover return postage and personalised or custom items may incur a small charge to cover the cost of me adapting it for general resale.
