Meet the maker Kat

Originally from London but now living in Brighton on the Sussex coast, Kat has a 21 year background in Art, Design and photography and Buddy over 30 years’ experience in music, specialising in acoustic and electric guitars combined with nearly a decade of working in the famous London music quarter Tin Pan Alley.

The idea for Pick n' Mix was created through our love of music and customising a number of guitars from our own personal collection. We are taking unloved and unwanted guitars and turning them into a talking point and giving them a new lease of life !

The guitars are being given a total makeover through the method of Decoupage which is the art of decorating an object by using multiple layers of collaged images building up the layers and sanding techniques to create a semi distressed but dramatic end result. They have had several coats of gloss in between sanding and a final spray of gloss laquer for extra protection

All guitars are fully stripped down and tested including all electrics, given new strings and professional set up and always leave us in great sounding and looking condition

Please note at this current time we do not offer a service to customise your own guitar, we get many requests to do this and although we would love to be able to say yes to everyone, the risks of working on someone's beloved guitar and them not liking the end result or worse the guitar becoming damaged or missing during shipping is too great to accept at the moment.

Kat also designs and creates a range of jewellery, specialising in music themed, Rockabilly, Punk, Retro and Gothic Horror which has been selling worldwide for the past 7 years through sister company Silver Tongue Devil
