Kirsten Miller Profile

I started Quernus Crafts in 2009 after choosing to leave a 15 year career in law to pursue my life-long passion for arts and crafts.

I love working with the wonderful medium of polymer clay which is so flexible and has allowed me to come up with a fantastic range of cute and quirky wee animals. I have been a Featured Seller on Folksy - yay! and I particularly enjoy doing commissions. I am happy to accept any challenge - to see the full range of wee creatures I have made, visit my Flickr page - http://www.flickr.com/photos/quernuscrafts/sets/.

Please visit my other shop, The Snail Emporium (http://www.folksy.com/shops/SnailEmporium), for all your gastropod needs! If you want to buy something from both shops, I am happy to combine postage and refund the balance due.

SHOP POLICIES

PAYMENT
Payment is due within 48 hours of placing an order. If payment is not received within this time, or if I don't hear from you, the transaction will be cancelled and the item relisted for sale.

Payment by Paypal is usually best, and you don't need an account to use it. For orders from UK buyers, I also accept payment by bank transfer - please contact me for further details.

RESERVED LISTINGS
I'm happy to create a reserved listing for a specific item, or a commissioned piece. I will notify you by convo of the link as soon as it is listed. However, if the item has not been bought and paid for within 7 days of the listing date, I will remove the reserved status on the listing and open it for general sale (unless otherwise agreed).

SHIPPING
I aim to ship all orders out within 48 hours of payment (unless otherwise stated in the listing). I post all UK orders out by first class recorded delivery post, which needs a signature on delivery - please feel free to nominate an alternative delivery address if you wish.

The international shipping cost quoted is for an Airmail service only, and it can take 1-3 weeks for products to arrive. Please bear this in mind when ordering for special occasions.

I am happy to send orders using a tracked and insured service for an extra charge. Please contact me for more information.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
All wee creatures come securely packaged in bubble wrap, tissue paper and a sturdy box. In the unlikely event of a breakage in transit prior to delivery, please return the damaged item, together with the original packaging, and I will either refund you the purchase price, or provide a replacement if possible. For one-off commissions, only a refund will be offered.

If there are any issues at all with your wee creature, please get in touch and I will do my best to resolve matters.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Because I make all wee creatures entirely by hand, no two are ever exactly the same, although I do my best to ensure consistency.

I also welcome commission orders, and for more information about this, please visit my website - http://www.quernuscrafts.co.uk/p/commissions-faqs.html.

The word "quernus" means of oaks, or oaken. Oak trees hold a special significance for me, which is why I wanted them to play an integral part in the identity of my new career. There is something magical about each small acorn holding the potential to become a magnificent oak tree with all its natural intelligence and beauty. I firmly believe that everyone has this potential within them, and part of my ongoing mission is to give others like me the chance to follow their heart and allow that acorn to become the mighty oak it longs to be.
