If I wasn't making something I wouldn't know what to do with myself! I've been crafting for many years, but making soap and skincare products is my number one passion!   Handmade by Lilli is my small family-run company based in Accrington, a small market town in the heart of Lancashire. My bodycare range is lovingly handmade using pure and natural ingredients . The oils and butters used are not only kind to the skin, but also eco-friendly, with all ingredients obtained from sustainable sources.  All my products are handmade in small batches, using a traditional method that allows all the goodness of the ingredients to be retained. The oils and butters are packed with skin-friendly vitamins and minerals, many of which are destroyed in mass-produced soaps, even those that claim to be good for your skin.  Because Handmade by Lilli is a cottage industry it has little impact upon the environment: as well as making every product myself, I also slice the soaps by hand and wrap each one individually, using recycled packaging wherever possible. The only machinery involved is my slow cooker and a basic kitchen blender! 
All my recipes carry a Safety Assessment, in accordance with EU and UK legislation. However, while essential oils are all-natural, smell wonderful and can be beneficial to the body and mind, they do have a serious side. Because they are distilled agents they are very potent natural chemicals. Essential oils must therefore be diluted before being used on the skin.  The essential oils in my products are all diluted in specific ratios that are skin and body friendly (according to my Safety Assessment recommendation). However, if you are pregnant or nursing a baby, have heart disease, epilepsy, high blood pressure or diabetes, you should seek the advice of a health professional before using any essential oils or any products purchased from Handmade by Lilli.
