Beautiful stitch markers and accessories for knitting and crochet

I'm Elaine and I'm interested in all things crafty. I live in the beautiful Devon countryside on the edge of Dartmoor. Ilearnt to knit when I was 4 years old and have been involved in craft ever since.

I am a knitter for designer Sasha Kagan and in the past have knitted for Di Gilpin. I also knit for friends and family. When it comes to crochet I know the basics and have many coasters and granny square blankets, but there my ability stops!!!!

I was lucky to train as an occupational therapist (OT) and have spent all of my career working in the field of acute mental health. As an OT I have seen at first hand the value of using creative skills in building confidence and self esteem, and in reducing stress and anxiety. I used my hobby in the treatment of my patients every day.

My parents and grandparents are/were all very creative. My mum has knitted and embroidered al of her life and my dad was a very talented woodturner, whilst my grandpa was an accomplished wood worker. Dad taught me woodturning and one day soon I will set up his lathe in my own home.

My main crafts are knitting, beading and sewing, but I have also enjoyed pottery, needle felting, embroidery, cross stitch, and macrame to name but a few..

I started my business in 2009 after trying and failing to find some pretty markers for my knitting. So I decided to make my own, had interest from a few friends who said I ought to try selling them ...................and the rest is history! I've sold on Folksy on and off over the years and other selling platforms, and I currently have my own website - Yarn and Craft.
