About The Beaded Garden

The Beaded Garden

Colouring in the world, stitch by stitch

That's my garden in the photo, with one of my favourite quilts ever (sold on Folksy within a week of listing!)

As you will see if you spend a little time roaming around my corner of the world, I am passionate about colour. At the moment, I'm mainly expressing that passion in the form of hand and machine stitched textiles: quilts, little useful bits and bobs for your handbag, pretty brooches... I love mixing it up: crochet and buttons, hand embroidery, ribbons, velvet.

I love folk art and in my heart I probably still live somewhere in the late 1960s/early 70s - only without the brown!

Most days you'll find me cutting and sewing in my garden studio, listening to podcasts, good books or soulful music. I've also been known to stitch in the car, crochet on the beach, embroider on the train....

A few days a month you'll also find me sitting in the Handmade Shop & Gallery in Bury St Edmunds, chatting to customers and selling my own creations alongside those of 30+ other wonderfully talented East Anglian designers, artists, ceramicists, glass makers, silversmiths and printmakers. Do pop in and say hello if you're visiting Suffolk.

Other essential information: I love cats, English asparagus, Suffolk skies, my wood burning stove and colour. Did I mention colour?? I quite like colour...
