Quiff Linen kindly requests customers take a moment to read the notice below.
Quiff Linen dolls are Art dolls, they are meticulously crafted sculptures that are designed to be admired rather than played with. These dolls are created skillfully using a wide range of materials and techniques. Each doll is unique, reflecting Quiff Linen's style and vision. Due to the amount of time and skill required to make them, they do appear expensive, but they are truly works of art.
Please note Quiff Linen has had to take an enforced break which will cause a delay in the release of new artwork. In the meantime please feel free to contact me with any query.

I started my new journey due to a negative event, which was the Covid pandemic. Like many others, it impacted me greatly and made me search for a new path in arts and crafts. A friend suggested an online course on pulled thread medieval embroidery using linen, which I found interesting. During the course, I learned about how flax plants are processed to create linen and later produced an embroidery sampler. It was a time-consuming and focused experience, and the small piece I made held great value to me. While I enjoyed the process, I realised that I could use linen in my new direction but not the embroidery technique.
During a brainstorming session, I stumbled upon an online book about crafting cloth dolls. The dolls were creatively designed with great attention to detail, especially their clothing, which inspired me. Being someone who grew up in the sixties, I had a special affection for the Gonk toy and searched for an original pattern. After much effort and time, I finally found one. One evening in 2021, I watched Owain Wyn Evans play the drums during the Drumathon for Children in Need and was fascinated by his stylish quiff. This led me to create a unique linen doll with a quiff hairstyle, incorporating all of my diverse inspirations. Hence, my journey into the art doll world began.
To verify the authenticity of my work, I opted to use a wax seal. After some research, I chose to work with a skilled British maker named Mel Harris at www.thecelticshop.uk to create a design that met my exact specifications. The result was precisely what I had envisioned.
I am dedicated to finding and using products that are made in the UK. However, in certain cases, I may purchase flax and linen from America or the EU and can provide justifications upon request. I solely use pure linen fabric, which can be quite costly. Each piece I create is one of a kind and handmade. At Quiff Linen, I prioritise reusing, recycling, and upcycling materials, while occasionally purchasing new ones. If I incorporate another artist's work into my pieces, I give credit where credit is due.
