Mixed media artist who loves playing with encaustic wax, clay, textiles and all things colourful

MioDesigns was set up with the help of my daughter a few years ago who came up with our name M I O. Made it Ourselves!
I have worked for years in a wonderful art and craft shop and have been inspired by the array of goodies we sell and some super creative customers that led me to experiment with so many different products, particularly encaustic wax.
I started my working life in tailoring going on to do the sewing for my upholster husband which has led to my great love of textiles. I have also belonged to a group of potters for over 25 years, so I certainly couldn’t bring myself to stick to just one craft!
