About Light & Dew

Light & Dew

Unique home statement items: restored antiques, upcycled items, bespoke cushions and much more

We are two Spanish sisters, Luz and Rocio, who have lived in Glasgow, Scotland, for over 20 years. Being very close from an early age, in the past 10 years we have come to realise our childhood dream of having a creative business together. Our careers started in very different paths. Luz having a degree in Business Studies worked for a while in the banking sector and later for companies such as IBM, NCR and William Grant. Rocio is a graduate in History of Art and Archaeology having worked in the museum sector and for archaeological and builidng restoration companies. After starting families we decided to seek for work together which allowed us to be at home more and work around the children. Subsequently, we went back to college to undertake an HND in Furniture Restoration together. As a result, we are now furniture restorers and soft furnishings makers by trade. We work from our little "Aladin's Cave", a wooden hut in Rocion's garden, where, when we are not working on client-based restoration commissions, we like to do our own bespoke projects. These reflect our love for colour and pattern, most likely the result of our upbringing in a Mediterranean country. Our names, Luz and Rocio, translate from Spanish into Light and Dew, hence the shop name! And we hope to bring a little sunshine with our creations into people's lifes. Our designs draw from nature, past designs and retro flamboyance, having a great love for antiques, vintage finds, the great area of design that was the 1950s and a genuine desire to change our contemporary through away culture, by restoring and upcycling materials with a creative flare. We hope you enjoy our work as much as we love making it!
