I'm inspired by architecture, styles from the 30s - 50s and urban living. These influences find their way into my sketchbook, where I work with pencil and ink. When working on a new design I play with scale and repeats before committing the final pattern onto a screen for me to print with.
Simplistic designs in rich colours make up my contemporary collection. Working only with natural fibres - linen, cotton and a blend of the two I design and make useable products to bring joy to everyday items. Make-up bags, peg bags, tea towels, cushions etc.
All items are designed, hand screen printed and made in my London studio.
I began screen printing in 2012. This was a new and exciting way of working with textiles for me as I had previously studied and worked in fashion for many years. The freedom of creating more organic and experimental prints is an evolving and rewarding process.
I live in London and never tire of the ever changing city. The culture, entertainment and array of nature is inspiring, whatever you're looking for is out there waiting to be discovered. I love to explore the city with my two girls and husband and can be found scouring vintage markets and seeking out interesting buildings.
