23 years and I still love what I do!

I wanted to become a jeweller.. so I enrolled at Camberwell College of Arts to do a Silversmithing and Metalwork degree... I loved the shiney bright non ferrous metals, copper, brass, silver and gold!! However in the first year, I was introduced to the forge and immediately fell in love with the dark side.. iron... the hot forging in iron.. the fire in the forge, the malleability of hot steel, it suited me, and the scale.. it was a love affair, and I spent the next three years, mostly on my own, in the forge. A brief stint with another Blacksmith as work experience consolidated my destiny. After graduation I worked with some nomadic blacksmiths in India.. what an amazing experience that was!! I set up on my own finally in 2007 when I was graciously offered the opportunity to take over a working Smiddy in Scotland and have been self employed ever since, although now I live in the balmier climes of West Dorset. In Scotland I was asked to make an Iron heart that was wrapped with ribbon and flowers as a centrepiece to the altar for a wedding, and there began my foray into Wedding and Anniversary gifts. I set up my Etsy shop in 2012 and have since developed a product line of useful, practical and pretty things that I love to make. 6th (Iron) Anniversary gifts are my specialty and I feel really privileged to be able to contribute to commemorate those really important moments in people's lives.
