I first fell in love with pottery when I saw ancient 3500 year old Minoan pots on the island of Crete. I loved the earth coloured designs and joyful animal motifs and learned to throw on the wheel in order to make my own versions of them. From there I gradually developed my own style which is always evolving and changing.
I am obsessed with decoration and pattern and am always thinking up new designs and techniques for decorating my pots. I love animals and birds and nature in general, so most of my work reflects this and my pots are decorated with a wide variety of figurative designs, although I love abstract patterns too.
My ceramics are decorative and useful, and It is a joy to see my mugs and bowls in use. Nothing is nicer than visiting friends and finding them drinking their tea out of my mugs! It's such a thrill and a compliment too!
