Hand embroidered onto a wool fabric background, then lightly felted, this colourful brooch is fun and a little quirky!
The turtle's shell is embroidered, in split stitch, using a pure wool in a vivid blend of orange, red and purple. The head and legs of the turtle are split stitched in a blend of yellow, blue, green and purple. The brooch has been lightly felted after stitching and the design is embellished with beads.
The edge of the brooch is blanket stitched in matching threads and the back is neatened with commercial felt. The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from recycled packaging. A brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
Dimensions:
Length (tip of head to bottom of shell) - 6cm approx.
Please note that this little chap is a fun brooch. He is not a toy and is not suitable for children.
Items of embroidered jewelry may not be entirely colourfast and care should be taken that jewellery items do not get wet in use in case colour should be transferred to items of clothing.
