Isabel of Portugal Necklace, silver & rose
Description
Silver plate fixings
Rose glass pearls, 10mm
Length: 40cm
This beautiful necklace is based on a portrait of Isabel of Portugal, from c. 1500, which is itself a copy of an altarpiece by Rogier van der Weyden that was painted around 1445-1450.
The original necklace features a central pearl that seems to have been drilled three ways, which is not easy for me to replicate. Instead, I have devised a way to link the pendant chain from the choker using a Y-shaped chain. This is one of my favourite necklaces to make, and has been very popular.
