“Lavender Storm” was sparked by one of those quick summer squalls that sweep across the Isle of Wight. I was watching the garden as the sky turned pewter, the air thick with the scent of lavender, and a single bee kept working between the stems. The light shifted, colours deepened, and everything felt both wild and calm. I sketched the loose, scribbly shapes of the flowers in ink, then layered soft washes of violet, blue and sea-green to capture that moment when rain meets bloom. It is a small love letter to resilience, scent, and the beauty of weather rolling in.
