The Great Grey Owl is known as the Ghost of the North. The largest of the owls, they are difficult to spot, living deep in the woods, well camoflauged by its mottled feathers, silent in flight and elusive.
With the approach of 2024, owls have featured strongly in my thoughts and visions. I wanted to capture the magic of the species, and make him look as if he could almost fade into the dark sky beyond.
