I am always drawn to African fabric be that prints or Brocade. This type of material is used for special occasions, normally an outfit or head tie. But it lends itself beautifully to making accessories as it has an repeat pattern that is not always discernible until you look closely.
The pattern on this piece is repeating squares which is where I got the inspiration for the quilting.
