Ooh la la.....
In this nine butterfly design, each Butterfly is constructed using extracts from a beautifully illustrated 1976 Michelin Paris guide book. Illustrations include....Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Avenue de l'Opéra and a delightful delicatessen.
The triple layer butterfly words and images are painstakingly chosen, hand cut, hand sewn and attached. In this example, the Butterflies sit on a grey Pastel paper.
I love the illustrations in these 70's guide books!
The piece comes in a white wood shadow box measuring 28.5cm x 23.5cm (outer dimensions of the frame) which can be either freestanding or hung.
I wholly welcome custom projects, think about locations that are special to you, places you have lived, your honeymoon destination, places you love. I will source books, maps, lyrics, quotes or anything you require,
