Full description
This brooch is the result of a collaborative project between myself and Amy of Folksy shop AmyOrange Juice. Amy is a stained glass and mixed media artist, and gave her permission for me to adapt this work from a panel which she had designed (http://www.folksy.com/items/403005-Star-Point-Light-House). I was thrilled since I have long been an admirer of Amy's colourful and atmospheric work!
The brooch is formed from the applique of printed cottons and hand-made felt onto the backing fabric. The design is then enhanced with hand embroidery and framed with two rows of couching in bright and cheerful colors to complement the design.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
