During an early morning walk in Reykjavik, Iceland, I was forced to slow down, take baby steps because of ice underfoot.
I had to closely examine the ground in front of me, assessing which shimmering patches of ice where slippery or not. Was that a shiny puddle or sheer sheets of glass?
In the process, being forced to slow down, meant I wasn’t getting anywhere fast and any plans I might have had downtown went out the window.
At this point I could have got annoyed. Instead, I flipped a switch and just went with the flow. I tuned into this close examination of ice; shimmering dusty frost to the sharp edged chips like cracked toffee.
There were soft and clean lines. There were whole worlds encased. There was beauty.

Ice Ice Baby is a digital print of an original abstract paintings. Playing with subtle shades of blues, greys and creams, shimmering ice crystals are evident.
An intermesh of sharp lines, smooth blended colours and short dashed markings create a piece which is simple but effective. With almost a muted colour palette this piece would look good in a minimalist, clean and simple environment.
This is a 8x8in ( 20 x 20 cm) print produced on premium smooth fine art paper, with a natural matte finish. Quality paper which holds the colour and textures of the piece well.
