My embroidered brooches start of as little sketches. I love the challenge of trying to capture the drawn detail with a needle and thread. I sketch with pencil/pencil crayons, so it's always interesting to see the transformation of the subtle illustrations into the vibrant colours of the felt in the finished piece.
