Item details

A patchwork butterfly which has been free hand machine embroidered onto calico. The wings are made from fabric scraps and the body from felt. The picture is mounted onto a 12cm embroidery hoop and is ready to hang on your wall.

Each piece is hand made to order so no two pictures are exactly the same. While the colour scheme is as pictured, the individual fabric scraps will vary in size and position.

Embroidery hoops always leave me feeling a little nostalgic, and I love the way they have taken on a new life recently as art work for your walls.

Whenever I sew I try to collect up all the little scraps of fabric and I love the way they can come together to make something new. I have used them to make my rabbit brooches and so decided to follow that idea into a wall hanging. Each item I make using scraps is truly unique and that makes them all the more special.
