It has been a long road to bringing these products to market as I originally started making garden sculptures when I left my job a s toy designer for LEGO. I was pitching them to garden centres, designers, individuals etc but whilst the response was great the uptake meant that I just couldn't sustain a business on them.
Off the back of this though I learnt a great deal about concrete and wanted to use this along with my design skills. I looked at the market for garden products and thought it could do with a little spice so set about looking into designs that could give a little more excitement to an everyday garden product.
The starting range is the origami inspired Kronen flower bowl and pot and the coffee tables that match the set. I hope to further expand the range if these lines show promise so I hope you like them.

The rust effect Kronen gives a stunning rustic wrought iron effect that is hard to tell what the base material is. The pot starts life as a warm grey concrete Kronen and then has a chemical rust treatment to dye the surface of the pot, giving it a bright, natural feel. Depending on where you intend to place this flower pot I would strongly recommend having the rust effect sealed so that it doesn’t discolour the ground it sits on.
Kronen, from the Danish word for ‘The Crown’, is an origami inspired, hand folded moulded and cast planter that aims to be a little bit different.
Using a fibreglass reinforced mix that I have developed myself, I lay up the pot by hand and then back the initial layer with a structural fibre glass mix. Each pot is thinly walled with a rough thickness of 15mm which creates an aesthetic lightness to the design. This enables the pots to have a nice quality weight but still be manageable.
The flower pot comes with no holes drilled so for exterior use please let me know and I will install a central drainage hole for you. For interior use the pot will need to be sealed or lay on a water proof tray as it is slightly porous. Sealing is an additional extra which you can add in the shop, just search for sealer.
