My studio over looks the beautiful Teignmouth beach and out to sea, so its hard not to be inspired by it! These brooches were made in response to The Lament of the Merman poem and these are the ones left over from the art exhibition accompanying The First Teignmouth Poetry Festival at the end of March 2014 http://www.teignmoutharts.org/event/first-teignmouth-poetry-festival/
I have always made brooches and jewellery out of found objects in my quiet moments, and this is 2014's new idea!

Perfect on a summer jacket or as a handbag brooch this lovely brooch is totally unique.
The glass pebble was made by fusing turquoise, grey, white and light blue glass together in my kiln, once they are fired and cooled I have securely added tiny shells and finds from the beach and beads from recycled broken jewellery and beautiful glass beads. My studio over looks the sea, so its been made with love and salty sea air!
Brooch comes packaged with one of my post cards in a stripy gift bag.
6 cm long. Standard badge pin backing.
Not recommended for children due to small parts.
