Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
It is a star, with eight points encircled by clear, iridescent textured, glass into an ring. A classic design for a suncatcher.
The star is made from 4 different shades and textures of turquoise and pink glass, some iridescent, some streaky. At the centre is a 'magic' dichroic glass nugget which I fused in my kiln.
Magic as it is pink when in the window with light behind it but turquoise sparkly with the light from the front.. See photo 2.
The iridescent glass surround picks out the pinks and turquoise of the central star and this piece has a lively shimmer.
I've framed the suncatcher with twisted wire for neatness and strength.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.
It is 5 inches in diameter and hangs from a little silvery chain which is securely attached to the top.
I can make this in other colour combinations. Please contact me if you prefer other colours. I never make two pieces the same, I try to ensure each is unique by using different types and textures of glass.
