Full description
A set of 4 polymer clay pillow beads, created by myself, by hand. The pattern on these beads has a more organic, loose feel compared to my usual patterns. The frost clay creates an illusion of depth, and contains little flecks, just as you would see in real frost and ice.
The beads are part of a limited design range called Daisy. Once the all the current stock has been used up, I won't be making any further beads in this design.
The process for making the beads is time consuming, it involves creating a large patterned cane with the polymer, then reducing it. Once reduced the patterned cane is cut into slices, one of these slices is then adhered to each side of the polymer bead. Once it is ensured that all the air has been released it is shaped by hand. A needle tool is then used to create the hole. The beads are then cured in the oven.
When cured each bead is hand sanded 2-3 times, with a variety of grits, to ensure a nice smooth quality.
These beads have also been polished with a wax to give them a gentle sheen, rather than a high gloss.
Each bead weighs approx 2-3 g.
Each bead has a width of approx 17mm - 19mm, and a depth of 9mm.
Each bead has a 2mm hole.
Due to the handmade nature of this item each bead will differ slightly.
