This beautiful daisy-shaped flower was once common in barley crops. In this brooch, it provides a lovely golden glow against the felted cornfield background.
Naturally died silk and mohair fibres are combined with merino wool, in the felt which forms the background to this brooch.
The brooch is stiffened with plastic cut from a recycled bottle. Green, loosely spun wool is bound round the edge of the brooch to frame the design.
The back of the brooch is neatened with felt and a brooch pin is securely stitched in place.
