I am enjoying recycling denim right now - it's a lovely, hardwearing material and thought that combining it with small hearts would look great on a bookmark.

Full description
This bookmark has been made using recycled black denim to the front of which I have appliqued 2 hearts and embroidered a third using free motion machine embroidery. The 2 pieces of denim have been interfaced to give extra stability.
A double row of stitching has been used to secure the fabric and I have used pinking shears to trim around the entire bookmark. This gives a lovely texture around the edges.
The bookmark is 8.75 " by 2.25" (22 cm by 6 cm).
If necessary I would recommend a gentle handwash only and allow to dry naturally.
