Long chains of pearls were very popular in Renaissance times. Ladies would wear them wrapped twice around the neck, one strand choker length and the other longer strand tucked into the top of their dress.

This four foot long chain alternates ivory and grey pearls with silver plate fixings. Even today, it makes a stylish piece of jewellery, although you might not wish to tuck it in the way the Tudors did!
