I love the little city chick! It has a naughts and crosses eye and crosses for wings. It was inspired by graffiti and street signs - this is no country bird...
I glazed it with glossy black glaze to emphasize its markings, and left the rest of it unglazed to show off the creamy textured clay and create a bold contrast.
There are many uses for the little city chick. It would make the perfect holder for a little tea light candle, use it to keep jewelry safe at night, or use it as a little soap dish. Then again, you might decide to keep it empty for decoration.
It is made from strong textured white clay and fired to stoneware temperature, so it is strong, despite its delicate form. Each little bird is made and stamped by hand, so please allow for a tiny difference between the one pictured and the one you receive, as I made a couple of these.
It measures approx 4" x 3.5" x 1" height. (10 x 9 x 2.5cm)
