Hot water bottles can be very hot it touched and I do not like the feel of the rubber. So I decided to make covers and I choose this yarn as it was bright and cheerful.

Full description
Help keep out the cold with this hot water bottle with a crochet cover. This hot water bottle cover has been crocheted in two tones of peach colour yarn. The main body is in bright peach with pale peach thin stripes. It has an envelope style closure on the reserve side with a retro green/ brown mottled button. This allows you to take the top off in order to fill the bottle with hot water or to remove the cover in order to wash it. The yarn used is 100% acrylic so can be machine washed up to 40degrees and is suitable for those who suffer from allergies to animal based yarns.
Approximate size from bottom of the neck 8inches (20.3cm) by 6.2inches (16cm) wide
