A pretty, felted and embroidered shoreline design decorates this miniature wall plaque.

The background of this plaque has been created by felting an assortment of hand dyed fibers to a fleece fabric background, using an embellisher machine. Details of the composition have been added by hand embroidery. The shoreline flowers are stitched in a mixture of cottons and vintage flax thread.

Couching, over a slubbed yarn in sea shades, twisted with a grass-green wool, frames the design.

The plaque is stiffened by several layers of plastic, cut from a recycled bottle, over which the embroidered fleece is stretched. The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.

Height (excluding hanging loop) - 10.5 cm approx.

Let me share a walk with you. Begin at the car park above Morfa Nefyn (on the Lleyn peninsular). Descend the steps to the beach and turn left. Continue along the sands, passed the jetty on the small headland, and round to Porthdinllaen, with the Ty Coch (Red House) Inn virtually on the beach. Scramble up the narrow path behind the tiny museum and this is the view which greets you (well my sitchery interpretation of it)
