This reversible nuno felted wool and silk shawl is a luxurious collage of silk fabrics and black merino wool fibre. It was inspired by some of the stained glass windows i saw on my visit to Dubrovnik this summer. It is a melee of vibrant silks, some left deliberately with raw edges, in green, pink, orange,purple and gold all nuno felted into the soft merino wool ruching , buckling and crinkling as the wool shrinks during the felting process. This results in an incredible textural feast for the eyes, and it is embellished with some chunky woollen yarns and tussah silk fibres and silk ribbons.
The reverse side is predominantly plain black with the occassional glimpse of the brightly cooured silks peeping through. All the edges of the scarf are finished with a curvaceous natural felted edge.
This is a lovely weight for the cooler months and would be equally at home worn as a wrap for a special occasion over a little black dress, or scrunched around your neck for everyday wear. This scarf is generously sized and measures approx 22" (56cm) wide by 81" (206cm) long.
