A unique Wall Clock made from salvaged wooden parquet flooring from the 1970’s.

This was handmade from pieces of parquet salvaged from my own house floor. Hidden for many years under dodgy carpet this was discovered when we moved in, we restored the majority of the floor but had some left over pieces which I kept hold of.

This is quality hardwood flooring, which shows evidence of its heritage with dents and chips (probably from platform shoes and Cuban heels).

It took a lot of cleaning to remove the original adhesive from the back, I also sanded the tops and sides of each piece to remove all the varnish. Then I assembled it in a traditional herring bone pattern. Once the glue had set I cut it to shape and gave it a couple of coats of varnish to finish.

This would make a great gift or why not treat yourself.

The clock has a quality quartz movement and takes 1 x AA Battery (included). There is a hook on the back so it is ready to hang from your wall.

I made this Wall Clock from some 1970's parquet wood flooring I salvaged from my house.

When we moved in (over 10 years ago) we ripped up the dodgy green shag pile carpets and was pleasantly surprised when we found the original 1970's hardwood parquet flooring underneath.

A lot of sanding and varnish later and it was back to its former glory, 10 years on we still have it in our dining room.

I took up a section in another part of the house and have had it in a box in my workshop ever since (I have a wood hording problem...)

I knew I would use it one day, and recently that day came.

Love how it turned out, the wood looks great restored to its former glory.
