Beautiful crockery re-purposed to create the ideal three-tier home for afternoon teas. I find incomplete tea services in local charity shops and create these pretty stands to complement your delicious baking. The plates here are gilt-edged and decorated with delicate garden pinks.The stands come flat packed for safe postage and are easy to assemble. This one is approximately 39cm high and the bottom plate is around 24cm in diameter. I do not use chipped or cracked plates but vintage items will sometimes show signs of wear or fading due to their age.

In the 1960s and 70s our family used to holiday in Perthshire. After a bracing day building dams and swimming in the icy waters of the River Garry we would scramble up the bank for what was already a very old-fashioned afternoon tea. The three tiered feast started with sandwiches at the bottom through to the slightly more interesting scones and finally - right at the top - the prettiest little cakes I had ever seen. Sadly that café became a Little Chef but the memory of the three-tiered feasts lingers on in this design.
