I bought this very beautiful silk fabric and was desperate to use it for a lovely book. It shimmers wonderfully in the light and has a gorgeous silky feel. The mulberry paper is a piece I have had for a long time - it's really lovely. By a wonderful coincidence, these two great materials match perfectly - I had to put them together. A golden linen thread and buttery coloured pages have created a beautiful blend of aqua and gold, with a hint of the exotic.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Standard returns policy applies to this item, except when a customised label has been purchased and attached to the book. If the book has a customised printed label, the book is then not eligible for return, unless it is faulty. However, if there should be a problem with your order, do contact me and I will do my best to resolve it to your satisfaction. ---- This book is a one-off item and, for your security, it will be posted to you by Royal Mail "Signed For" delivery. The delivery is tracked and a signature will be needed on receipt.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
A Handmade Guest Book, ideal for a Wedding, engagement party, bridal shower, christening... Especially great for a "venue wedding" at a Tropical location!
The covers are in a very beautiful shot silk dupioni; it is woven with aqua thread one way and a soft gold the other, so it shimmers in the light and appears to change colour, according to the way you are looking at it.
The edge of each cover is trimmed with a soft aqua mulberry paper, which has silk fibres in it and is printed with golden sprays of bamboo. The cover linings are soft aqua Canson art paper.
The book is hand bound in golden linen thread, with a hybrid Coptic / French Longstitch binding. The binding is made on the fold of each page section, allowing the book to open out flat all the way through.
Inside, there are 40 pages of a gorgeous buttery-cream text paper with a laid finish. The pages have hand-torn edges to give a slight deckle finish.
This paper is suitable for many types of pen, though I wouldn't recommend using a fibre-tip/marker pen, as the ink is very dense and may bleed through.
The outside measurements are 19 x 19cm (7.5" square) and the pages are slightly smaller.
You can personalise your book, by adding a custom-made label or bookplate, or perhaps a hand-tied silk tassel. For more details, see the Labels and Add-ons section of my shop.
