I enjoy making classic, functional style signs, designed to subtly blend with their surroundings.
The wood was selected for a mild rustic texture, sanded by hand and then painted with a minimum of two coats of quality, high pigment white paint, sanded again and then the lettering was painted freehand (I don't use stencils or transfers) to create a unique feel.
This particular sign was given a very subtle distressed effect and a blend of waxes used to finish for ageing.
