My mother's neighbour was demolishing their house and sadly all the slate was being thrown away as part of the demolition. It seemed such a shame to waste, so, as I was already doing sketches for my wooden creations I simply applied them to the slate. I now have a series of slates with quirky animals, cars and funny quotes.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

A bit of fun with a VW Camper van and a humorous quotation - 'We're on the road to nowhere'
Each slate is cleaned, lightly sanded and then painted using acrylic gel pens. I then rub some vegetable oil over as a natural sealer to add a slight glaze (sometimes I use decoupage sealer). Each item has a wire hanger so all you need to do is hang-it and smile.....
