Full description
This tree was hand-crafted from a single sheet of copper; cut out using a specialist piercing saw and hammered into shape. It measures 61cm (24") at its highest, and 19cm (7.5") at the furthest reach of its branches.
It would look good in a variety of homes - whether to compliment the wood of an old mantelpiece or to create a focal point in a more contemporary space. Also, because of its size, organic look and robust design, it would look equally good indoors as it would outdoors as an ornament for your garden or yard.
The warm, dark colouration on the metal is a pleasing effect of the annealing process that makes copper malleable. The way that it changes under a flame is beautiful. For this reason, copper is one of my favourite materials to work with.
