Something, but usually someone, that one cherishes above all others can be known as, the apple of ones eye. I think this pendant would make a lovely gift to a loved one and as each pendant is different from another, it also makes a lovely unique gift.

I'm interested in miniature art and saw a painting on a grain of rice at a museum and felt inspired to try something similar in the form of writing.

I have since discovered it is an ancient art-form.

Rice writing is the art and skill of being able to write small enough on a grain of rice.

Many rituals and rites use rice as a medium, but at some point in ancient Anatolia artisans who were skilled in making miniature paintings decided to turn their skill to making art with what had always been an ancient symbol of prosperity, the oldest example of which lies in Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. The artisans would inscribe messages or names on a single grain of rice after it was treated and polished.
