Flames Glass Lampshade

This is a 16" diameter glass lampshade with my own flames design. It is made using the techniques developed by the studios of Louis Comfort Tiffany. I've cut each piece of glass, I then grind the edges, copper foil them, tin solder each piece and place on the form to be soldered together. The lampshade is cleaned up, a black patina is then applied on the solder and polished to bring a shine to the glass.

I love making these lampshades - which is just as well as they take approx 1 month to make ! (besides other work I have on).

The shade weighs just over 2Kg and comes with a standard lamp ring fitted. This shade requires either a heavy & solid base or additional support if being hung. I can attach a chain for this if requested at no extra cost. The choice is yours!
