This totally unique hand finished lampshade features an original vintage lampshade frame that has been re-covered with a stone coloured cotton fabric that features embroidered dots in beautiful pastel shades including pink, lilac and green.

I have finished the shade around the bottom edge with traditional white and pink fringing and have added a lovely lace effect ribbon around the top and bottom edge.

The lampshade has the original cream coloured lining and the spotty fabric has been attached to the lining and frame with neat hand sewing.

This lampshade is a true one-off original and adds a pretty traditional touch with a modern edge to any room.

The lampshade fitting suits a standard 25mm light fitting and works as a table lamp shade or maybe even a floor lamp shade. The pretty shade would add a pretty yet vintage aspect to any room particularly a girls room or maybe even a nursery.

I found a vintage lampshade and really wanted to re-cover it with a more modern fabric but keep a pretty look to it.
I stripped back the original fabric and re-covered in this cute spotty fabric. I then used the original, traditional style cream and pink fringing around the bottom edge as it seemed to work really well adding a pretty, traditional touch to the modern design fabric. I then finished the shade with some beautiful lace ribbon that I had.
Although making this lampshade was a learning curve I enjoyed the process and will be looking out for similar future projects.
