Meadow flowers hand-embroidered against a felted meadow background decorate the front of this very pretty little bag.
Sky blue wool fibers have been felted to a background of kunin felt (produced from recycled plastic bottles). A wide variety of yarn snippets, carefully collected from other yarn projects, have been added to represent the meadow grasses. Stitching in fine cotton has been added to the sky and meadows to 'stabilise' the felting. The back of the bag is cut from a felted hand-knitted mohair jacket. Both back and front panels are backed with light weight, iron-on interfacing to give a little extra strength whilst not destroying the soft, tactile qualities of this bag.
The top edge of the bag is finished in blanket stitch, using a pale blue crochet cotton. The strap is a length of blue commercial cord. The bag closes with a loop of the same cord over a button covered in pale blue linen. The bag is lined with a cotton fabric of blue 'bell flowers ' on a white background.
