One of a series of therapeutic photographic self-portrait images entitled 'Out of My Mind' which documents my personal journey through mental ilness. The series is also a commentary on the state of the mental health services in the UK, USA and beyond.

This seemingly simple image of confusion, frustration and despair was a very recent photograph and actually represents the way I sometimes handle my episodes - I simply let myself 'lose it' for a short while, then pick myself up and get on with it, hence having a deliberate and somewhat controlled 'gentle freak-out.'
