The Elementals 'Magic Mushroom' was born a few weeks ago from trying to think of something simple yet challenging for folks to make at my needle felting class.
Once you've got the basic technique of how to needle felt (and avoid the very sharp needle) the mushroom shape is ideal as it allows you to sculpt and apply detail to a fairly simple shape and you can keep working into it until you are happy.

Everything you need to make our needle felted 10cm tall magical mushroom with spots.
Our mushrooms are ideal for folks that have tried needle felting before and would like to get to grips with some sculpting techniques. The base and underside are sculpted to give a very solid 3D effect to the finished mushroom and it's made in three pieces to give it a really 'mushroomy' feel.
This kit contains approx. 15g of merino fibre - white for the underside and stem and 'mushroomy' colour for the top (usually red, brown or orange - contact me if you have a preference), grey for creating the gill effect to the underside plus some white wool nepps for decoration.
It also contains 1 x set of instructions, 1 x sponge, 1 x needle for felting.
For orders placed by the end of March, we're including one rubber/plastic finger protector - you'll see them in the image below. You still have to be careful but I've found them to be great for giving your fingers a little extra protection when working on delicate pieces.
Also, just a reminder that felting needles are sharp so not suitable for young children.
