mermaid's earrings
Description
A tiny pair of earrings made using two pieces of green sea glass, I spent hours searching through all my little pieces of glass to find two that matched reasonably closely.
The glass is wrapped with fine sterling silver wire .6mm in diameter. The ends of the wire are melted into little blobs which I think give a nice organic feel. It's very hard to wrap the glass in exactly the same way for each earring, I design the wrap with copper wire first and then draw it from both sides, then I make the final piece with the silver wire.
Doing it that way saves wastage too as I know how long the silver wire needs to be.
The pendant part of the earrings is about 1/2" 1.25mm approx from top to bottom and the glass is a little over 1/4" wide at it's widest, I confess I haven't measured these are educated guesses.
The ear wires are also sterling silver but are .8m diameter. If required I can supply little rubber stops to prevent them from working their way out of your ear, they are extremely light and therefore easy to lose.
