After researching the period 1930-1950 I discovered that doilies played a large part in home decor mainly as protective mats for objects placed on wooden surfaces. Much time, care and attention was paid to the making of these doilies and it seems a shame to think that this devotion to crafts should be hidden away. I have collected numerous doilies and chosen the most impressive to display on cushions so that they have a chance to shine in a new lease of life.

Full description
This sumptuously silky, pale gold, vintage lace doily has been carefully hand stitched into position to sparkle on a vibrant copper satin fabric in a new lease of life. The satin is woven to a high specification and sourced from oriental looms. It exudes luxury with its lustre and smooth finish. The cushion is backed in an exceptional high end quality 100% cream cotton fabric having a tight weave that gives that ‘showhome’ look. Without a doubt a ‘one off’! (image 1 shows truer likeness to colour -image 2 is too light)
Every cushion fastens with an invisible zip for removal of inner pad and ease of cleaning. Due to the age of the vintage material and the different types of fabric used in designs, dry cleaning is recommended for the majority of items. Each cushion is supplied with a polypropylene cushion inner filled with polyester hollow fibre which complies with safety regulations.
