My tree bark and knots investigations have been developing for the last six years, since a holiday to Portugal. I was inspired by the array of colours and tones evident in Portuguese tree barks: yellows, greys, greens, amber, rust, oranges, reds and browns.

Full description
A contemporary piece of Textiles artwork, created entirely from threads and fibres.
The circle is created by free-machine embroidery onto vanishing muslin, a fabric that dissolves hence only the stitching remains. Shades of brown, gold and burgundy have been randomly combined. These are topped with handmade felt (using the wet-felting method) in rusty orange tones, with further free-machine embroidery in a copper red metallic thread. To finish the circles are embellished with French knots in an orange tone, and a sprinkling of gold, bronze and red seed beads.
Size: Approximately 7cm diameter, however, please note the unpredictable nature of free machining can alter size and shape slightly.
